A fashion show is a fashion business event, lasting about one week, which allows fashion designers or houses to present their most recent collections in “runway” shows and buyers to take a look at the latest trends. Most prominently, it lets the business recognize what's “behind the show” and what's “on the show” for the season.
In foremost fashion capitals, fashion weeks are like semiannual events. From January through March designers showcase their autumn and winter collections and from September through November the spring/summer collections are shown. Fashion weeks must be held a number of months in advance of the season to consent to the press and buyers a chance to see a preview of the fashion designs for the following season
