The Nexus School of Fashion Design
(NSFD) will host a fashion show at Holiday Inn hotel today
(Saturday). The show will feature the clothes of their
graduating students at the end of their three-year degree
in fashion designing.
“The clothes are mostly western. Everything
from the fabric to the final stitching has been done by
the students,” Asam Maqbool, NSFD Textile Department section
head, told Daily Times. “NSFD is the only institute where
students do all the work on their own, without help from
the commercial market.”
Isma Naseer from NSFD said that the main
theme of the fashion show was nature. “Each student will
display three dresses,” she said, adding that her dresses
were inspired by the 60s.
The fashion show, which has been choreographed
by Fahim Dar, will feature professional models. “Outfits
designed by Shahid Dilshad, Umair Kashif and myself will
also be put on the ramp,” said Naseer.
Saleem Fawad, NSFD director, said that
this would be the fourth fashion show by the college.
“Mian Misbahur Rehman, Lahore Chamber of Commerce and
Industry (LCCI) president, will be the chief guest at
the fashion show,” he said.
