BARNSTABLE, Mass. A man who worked
for a trash-hauling firm on Cape Cod faces a murder charge
today in the killing of fashion writer Christa Worthington.
Christopher McCowen will be arraigned
in Barnstable Superior Court.
Authorities allege that McCowen broke
into Worthington's house in Truro in early 2002, raping
and killing her.
He was indicted by a Barnstable County
grand jury last week.
According to court documents, a D-N-A
sample McCowen gave investigators matched D-N-A taken
from Worthington's body.
Cape and Islands District Attorney Michael
O'Keefe said last week that no one else will be charged
in Worthington's death.
She was found stabbed to death with her
then two-and-a-half year old girl clinging to her body.
