A Passion for Fashion
Megan Johnson is a New Zealand fashion
designer who believes in passion for fashion and designs
on the world. She is a previous retailer, now e-tailer,
who thinks that you are what you wear, so make it beautiful!
"If we all spoke our mind and wore
our hearts on our sleeves, fashion would be a truly interactive
experience" Johnson, 29, says.
Johnson studied Business Management and
Japanese at Waikato University, and pattern making in
Auckland. She travelled in Japan and Europe and is influenced
by different cultures and what she sees around her, and
takes this into her creativity and designing.
Inspiration
Her designs hail from her travels, the
variety of colour, fabric and styles one sees in different
cultures. She loves people-watching, admiring what’s seen
on the street, on friends and often designs just what
she’d like to wear out on Saturday night.
Johnson's main love is fabrics. "I
love using vibrant colours, patterns and designs in my
garments, and it's what I like to wear myself."
