ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- The Seattle Mariners
got a career-high four RBIs, including a home run, from
rookie Jeremy Reed Sunday in a 10-9 victory over the Tampa
Bay Devil Rays in the finale of a six-game road trip.
After losing the first four games of
the trip, the Mariners won the last two against Tampa
Bay.
Reed hit a solo homer in the second inning,
delivered a two-run single that tied the score at 8 in
the eighth and then snapped a 9-9 tie in the ninth with
a two-out double. It was Reed's second career homer in
the majors.
The Mariners scored four times in the
eighth to take a 9-8 lead.
Bret Boone hit his 250th career homer
and drove in two runs for Seattle, while reliver Ron Villone
pitched 1 2/3 innings for the victory.
Eddie Guardado pitched the ninth inning
for his 13th save.
The Mariners open a six-game homestand
Monday night, facing the Toronto Blue Jays in the first
of three games with 42-year-old Jamie Moyer on the mound.
