Model agency collaboration with centre
for excellence - MOT Models support London College of
Fashion
One of London’s busiest model agencies
is giving a boost to Foundation Degree Arts graduates
in Fashion Styling and Photography and specialist Make-up
Design at London College of Fashion, part of the University
of Arts London.
MOT Models - along with Silverpoint Design
and Williams Press - produced a full colour Yearbook that
shows a selection of the graduates’ work and their contact
details, providing the students with a guide for prospective
employers and clients, as well as showcasing some of the
results generated by the world-renowned college.
The courses are considered to be best
of their kind in the world, noted for the fact that students
are encouraged to collaborate with one another and the
wider world of commerce and industry. The stunning results
of projects also highlight the fact that the students
are able to crystallize their own take on contemporary
London and its unique fusion of diverse styles that is
enhanced by the capital’s multiculturalism.
The graduate show that exhibits final
year work is running at the College’s 20 John Princes
Street West End site (London W1G 0BJ) from June 15-20
2005.
Paul Bevan, London College of Fashion
Principal Lecturer and Course Director said, “The courses
foster collaboration, internally and externally as students
are encouraged to work together as well as with industry
professionals. As a University, we are keen to work with
industry where appropriate, and these courses are particularly
well placed to do this. We welcome the support of our
progressive, industry-based sponsors.
“Our graduates leave us with creative
and technical skills, teamwork experience and a range
of contacts for future networking and the new Yearbook
that is generously completely funded by MOT Models and
their team is an invaluable tool that helps open doors.”
Mike Illes, Director of MOT Models said,
“Bridging the gap between academic excellence and the
hard-nosed real world of business is one of the toughest
steps that a young person makes. When that step is in
an artistic discipline, it becomes even harder as so often
progress is dependent on subjective criteria and frequently
chance has a strong role to play. Through producing this
Yearbook we hope that we can help every graduate have
the best possible chance of making a success of their
career in the highly competitive worlds of fashion, design
and film, where many London College of Fashion graduates
excel”.
MOT Models has a history of positively
encouraging new talent in photography, film, make-up and
styling and additionally sponsors the annual Association
of Photographers Awards. This is the second year that
the model agency has collaborated with the College.
