My experience at Monroe Community College
has been great. The faculty and staff are very supportive
and they make MCC feel like home. I will never forget
MCC and will keep in touch with those who have really
touched my heart.
I began attending classes at MCC in spring
of 2003. I started out like the typical student, going
to class, working, then going home. I worked two to three
jobs while attending MCC.
During my second semester, while completing
my degree in graphic arts/printing, I decided to get involved
in extracurricular activities. I became involved in student
government as the roundtable coordinator. In the spring
of 2004, I wasn't ready to graduate. I decided to run
for the position of student trustee in student government.
Within the next year, I earned a second degree in communication
and media arts.
I'll graduate from Monroe Community College
on June 2 with honors, receiving degrees in graphic arts/printing
and in communication and media arts.
I'm happy my stepmother was also able
to continue her education at MCC. She's an amazing woman.
She has the responsibility of a family and husband, along
with a job she's been at for 22 years. She inspires me.
I'm transferring to the Fashion Institute
of Technology in the fall of 2005. My ultimate goal is
to be a fashion art director.
Modeling is my passion, which is part
of my reason to study fashion. For the same reason, I
chose FIT.
