NZ Fashion Award Winners
Fix knitwear is the label of New Zealand
designers Jason Crawford and Kylee Davis. Their career
was kickstarted when they became winners at the Benson
and Hedges fashion awards for their unique styles of knitwear.
The young design duo had backgrounds in the local fashion
industry in production, and utilised these skills in their
own cutting-edge designs.
Distribution
Today, Crawford and Davis run a large
operation manufacturing in Auckland New Zealand, with
their signature store, Esoteric, in fashion centre Newmarket,
and stock the Fix label in dozens of stores in New Zealand
and many in Australia. Plans for the future include distribution
opening up into the global market.
The Collection
The Fix designer knitwear clothing range
features contemporary, edgy designs in vibrant colours
in cotton and wool for the modern urban man or woman.
This season’s collection is based upon rocks, with pieces
named for stones. The yarns are highest quality, with
cotton, wool, and man-made yarns they source around the
world, including a ‘skin’ yarn with an amazing rubberised
texture.
Popular NZ Fashion
It seems one can’t go anywhere now without
seeing someone wearing a piece of Fix clothing, such is
their popularity and hold on the New Zealand fashion market
place. Their style is characteristically tops with asymmetric
detailing, missing chunks of a neckline or a sleeve, or
with ties around the waist or an interesting buckle. These
features make Fix stand out from the rest of New Zealand
fashion design and fashion knitwear with an enduring style.
