Now in its 7th year, Miami Fashion
Week of the Americas (FWA) presents 34 designers from
14 countries throughout Latin America, the Caribbean,
USA, Europe and Asia. Presented by Citi International
Personal Banking, FWA takes place May 11 - 14 under the
Fashion Tent on the beach at 21st and Collins, Miami Beach,
followed by the May 15 debut of CityStyle, for today's
trendsetting, multicultural lifestyle fashions.
FWA'a talent roster includes Italy's
Roberta Scarpa, (Designer of the Year award), Russia's
Vemina Fashion House, India's Aparna Chandra and Mexico's
Pineda Covalin. Accessory designers include Esther Soued,
Fassardi & Rohrscheib, Simi Albo, Sonia Stephen and
Viviane Guenoun, from Venezuela, Peru's Mariakarla Casos,
Mexico's Martha Vargas, Argentina's Missair and Canada's
Gemstore. And, introducing Miami Designers Showcase, featuring
Julian Chang, Samy Gicherman, Nicolas Felizola and Ivonne
de la Vega.

Student Showcases - A.I. Miami International
University of Art & Design and the Design and Architecture
Senior High School; McKinley Pierre Furniture Exhibit;
Fashion Gallery with mannequins representing each designer;
and after-parties at the hottest clubs.
Miami Moda & Music Awards brings
FWA to a spirited close, with the Designers Choice, Pret-A-Porter
Style, Excellence in Eveningwear and Terra New Model of
the Year awards, followed by a special guest entertainer.
Emcees are Candela Ferro and Roberto Angeleri.

CityStyle
CityStyle makes its debut Sunday, May
15. Runway shows spotlight trendsetting lifestyle designers
including Sean John Collection, Mia Shvili, Reebok and
Taylor and Madison. Capping off the event are performances
by PopStarz and the Hip Hop Kidz, with an after-party
at Opium Garden.
CityStyle event partners are Elini Designs
Corp., AOL Radio, Vencer Marketing Group, City of Miami
Beach, Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce, Miami-Dade Tourist
Development Council and Greater Miami Convention &
Visitors Bureau.
Beth Sobol, of Sobol Fashion Productions,
Inc., founded FWA in 1999 to provide a forum offering
international exposure for designers from Latin America.
It has evolved into one of the world's premier fashion
events spotlighting designers from Europe, USA, Canada,
the Caribbean and Asia as well as the largest showcase
of Latin American design talent in the United States.
CityStyle is a new addition to the company.
