Full Figured Fashion Week took place in New York last week, While the fashion week was a shortened one over the span of three days, it was one to be remembered and celebrated as the first for plus size history.
Thursday was the start of the festival at Re/Dress NYC, owned by fat activist, Deb Malkin. Here, Gwen DeVoe, Sharon Quinn, the Curvy Collective, Susan Moses, and attendees gathered to shop, sip, and share their excitements for the events to take place. Overall, the night was an amazing exciting one, allowing those known and unknown to each other to meet, laugh, dance, and network, all in the name of Full Figured Fashion Week!
The Finale Show was absolutely breathtaking, which took place at the Prince George Ballroom. 15 designers flaunted their amazing interpretations of fashion for the plus size fashion in a variety of ways! From swimwear to outerwear and all fashionably in between, the show was one not to be missed!
Overall, Full Figured Fashion Week, in its way, is one definitely to be remembered and anticipated. The overwhelming sense of joy, success, and pride that exuded from the week’s festivities will not fade.
