Fun fashion for all the ages, door prizes and a salad lunch were all a part of Monday’s fashion show at Grace Memorial Baptist Church. The clothing showcased was from Janet’s Korner Thrift Store, a division of Community Christian Concern (CCC) in Slidell.
CCC opened the store three years ago to help the deprived in Slidell. The organization gives vouchers to buy clothing at Janet’s Korner to those who qualify. They could then choose and try on clothing. Eugene Wellington, the director of CCC, thinks it is a immense program, saying it’s suitable and protects confidentiality.
The store sells clothing for all ages and occasions, from school uniforms to party dresses. All proceeds benefit Community Christian Concern and it’s a lot of projects. All clothing is provided by donations.
