She was born on August 10th, 1942 in Wethersfield, Connecticut.
Every one for her fashion trends and capricious designs
admired Betsy. Betsy was a popular fashion icon in the
glamour world. When she was
young, she attended many dance classes, those cute and
gorgeous dance costumes motivated her and this aroused
her fashion designing talent. Betsy’s fashion shows are
world famous, and the cartwheels at the end of the show
are her specialties.
Betsy completed her high school and joined the Pratt
institute; she finished her graduation in Syracuse University.
Betsy’s fashion career began when she won the title “mademoiselle”
in the guest editor contest. Soon she started working
as an in house designer for the Manhattan boutique. After
gaining some experience she had an idea of opening her
own boutique. But then no one was ready to provide finance
for her company. So she started her boutique using her
savings, in the year 1969 in New York’s Upper East Side.
Her house model was Edie Sedgwick. Betsy’s fashion won
many hearts and awards. She opened her first retail store
in soho in 1978. During 2003-2004 she started expanding
her business to other accessories like lingerie, handbags,
shoes, hats, Scarves and jeans. There are many celebrities
included in her client list.
Betsy got married to John Cale in 1967. Then later they
were separated through divorce in 1971. She has a daughter
lulu. Betsy has survived, after being attacked by breast
cancer. Now she is working as a breast cancer advocate.
She spends her vacation in the Mexican beaches. Her residence
is at New York.
